The station opened on October 27, 1907 with renovations continuing constantly over the years. Union Station is one of the busiest and best known places in Washington D.C. with 20 million visitors each year. Passenger services are provided by Amtrak, MARC and VRE commuter railways. Visitors of the station will find an AMC Theater in the former "Pit", large food court and a variety of shops inside. Union Station is has also been featured in countless movies including Hannibal, The Recruit, and Wedding Crashers.
