The cornerstone for the Supreme Court Building was laid October 13, 1932 but wasn't completed until 1936 after 146 years of existence. The Supreme Court is the highest judicial branch in the United States. The court consists of a Chief Justice and eight Associate Justices who are all nominated by the President of the United States and confirmed by the United States Senate.
