Created by J. Seward Johnson Jr., this unique sculpture features a giant buried in the earth, struggling to free himself. The sculpture is composed of 5 separate pieces buried in the ground, including a left hand, right foot, bent left leg and knee, right arm, and a mouth in mid-scream. Currently located at Hains Point in East Potomac Park, the statue is sometimes engulfed by the waters of the Potomac River creating an eerie and unsettling image.
